Happiness Index (2025)

For this project I was given data from the Global Happiness Index with the text of creating an illustration based on what I interpreted from the data. I struggled with the task of illustrating the disparity of happiness between different countries as I felt it would require a great level of sensitivity to global inequality and issues. I also have a difficult time figuring out how to create a narrative from the information I was given as I felt it lacked a certain nuance about cultural differences. As a result, the message I aimed to convey with this illustration is the notion that even the highest-ranking countries cannot be 100% happy. I tried to use oxymoronic symbols to create a talking point.
